Probably the person that I liked the most was Mathew Needleman. http://www.needleworkspictures.com/vic/about/webmaster.html

He was just so motivating to me and so real. He did so much with those little first graders. I was impressed. There are talkers and there are doers. He is a doer. I am even following him on Google Reader.

Yes, he was awesome too. Interesting guy. I liked his positive attitude about working around and within the restrictions of a scripted curriculum. The kids enjoyed the video and we discussed and critiqued it together. Today we had a great session in the lab narrating our “I Am” poems. We used garageband to put them to music. First we discussed the importance of picking music to match the mood of the poem. This way they wouldn’t be messing around with all the sounds forever. It worked pretty good! Still struggling with 34 kids narrating a time and not picking up each others voices. I have tried to work in shifts but then it seems to take too long. It works though. I should put a few on that state website for sharing. Have we got confirmation yet on that. I haven’t yet. Looking forward to it.

It’s great to see some other blogging/commenting on this. Richard, I know what you mean about trying to get all the kids recorded. I’ve done it at lunch, and during preps, which is fine for a project, but hard to do on an ongoing basis. These are the sorts of questions that I think most of us grapple with when we’re trying to do these projects, a lot more than how does the software work.
